Optimizing Shop Time

Fabrication & Modularization

An erector’s approach to fabrication

We are the largest and most experienced fabricator and erector in the US. Procuring more steel direct from mills than anyone else, our buying power secures steel availability and the best price in tight markets for your project.

We continuously seek to optimize shop time and develop strategies that drive hours out of the field. With decades under our belt, our nationwide footprint and network of specialty contractors, we are best placed to deliver projects of any scope or scale with safety underlying all decisions. Our 14 fabrication plants and 5 field yards are connected to rail spurs and strategically located close to water ways and heavy haul truck routes across the US, ensuring our transportation carbon footprint is minimized.

TANKS & VESSELS

Our capabilities span all aspects of tank and vessel construction and repair including design, modularization, fabrication and erection. We regularly source materials and components from around the world and have highly skilled craft to work with stainless steel, carbon steel, chrome-moly, clad materials, duplex, nickel alloy, copper-nickel, Zecor & exotic alloys ranging in thickness from 3/16” to 3 ¼”.

Structural Steel

STRUCTURAL STEEL

We constantly look for opportunities to inform the design and constructability of a project by applying our fabrication, construction and maintenance expertise. Where possible we integrate our design and modeling resources within project and engineering teams to ensure fabrication, installation and maintenance requirements are considered which results in significant efficiencies in the procurement, fabrication and install of all disciplines.

Mechanical Platework

HEAVY PLATE WORK & MISC

We provide heavy platework fabrication and field erection to the industrial market throughout the US. Our platework fabrication and erection experience includes: ductwork, transitions, stacks, chutes, hoppers and bins. Typical materials of construction include: carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, nickel alloys and clad/bonded materials. We utilize our modeling and detailing capabilities to optimize fabrication and modularization of components to minimize cost and schedule. Components can be fabricated and assembled into various sizes depending on transportation logistics and installation requirements.

Piping

PIPING

With piping often on the critical path, we utilize the model ensuring hard or soft clashes are resolved, consideration is given to accessibility for maintenance and ultimately, pipe spool drawings and isometrics are accurate for fabrication. We hold B31.1, B31.3 certifications and maintain ASME Section IX welding procedures, can fabricate up to 48” diameter, bend up to 3” inhouse, fabricate custom flanges and work with exotic materials.

modularization

Modularization

Our fabrication, logistics planning, construction and maintenance experience enables us to influence design for modularization to enhance constructability, reduce cost in the safest way possible and drive high labor costs out of the field. Our experience spans modularizing assemblies of all sizes from pipe racks fully loaded with pipework and supports to equipment skids and 350T train load-out modules.

Constructability Planning

Some view a model as a design tool; we view it as a means of communication. When it comes to constructability planning, we use the model to develop animations and digital work instructions to ensure a comprehensive understanding of execution strategies while ensuring safety and efficiency in everything we do.

Complex Logistics Planning

With meticulous coordination and collaboration amongst our platform of companies and project stakeholders, we ensure a well-coordinated plan that meets safety, quality and schedule requirements on every project.

Procurement

Our supply chain management team employs multiple strategies with vendors, government, environment, behavioral and technology to mitigate risk of product shortage and escalation.
