This project included a 5-story patient tower addition to the Chandler Regional Medical Center Campus. It includes 1,200 tons of steel, 2 stair towers and 2 elevators. The building ties into the existing building at several locations.

This was a BIM coordinated project for which GrayWolf provided 3D models incorporated into a federated model. A federated model allows other trades to do clash detection with steel as well as other trade partner’s work. Erection utilized SidePlate’s patented bolted moment frame technology. This system reduces overall tonnage and accelerates the erection durations compared to traditional moment frames that require a great deal of field welding. With bolted SidePlate connections, all the welding is done in the shop at the connection and only bolting is required in the field.

This project was fabricated by an AISC fabrication shop and AISC erector supporting a high level of quality and accuracy.
