Banner Boswell Medical Center expansion is a multi-phase expansion to the existing hospital. GrayWolf was involved in the design and coordination of the project on a weekly basis in site meetings or online conference calls.

Phase 1 included galvanized wide flange framing and tube pipe rack cages above roof for over 300 FT from the Central Plant. Phase 2 included a double elevator structure and stairs up to the 30 FT level. Phase 3 is the expansion of the Emergency Department and five story Tower.

One of the keys to the success of the project was the sharing of 3D models. GrayWolf imported Revit and IFC files to create an Advanced Bill of Material to order steel. These same models were modeled by the design team and downloaded regularly allowing all trades to update accurately and timely. GrayWolf uploaded Tekla 3D models into BIM360 Glue for review and coordination to ensure correct location of the steel and for MEP, fire, and other trades and designers to clash detect their work. The amount of coordination in essentially real time helped to reduce potential field issues and created an environment that encourages collaboration and cooperation between all members of the design and construction team.
