Tempe Diablo – Spring Training
Located in Tempe, Arizona, the Tempe Diablo project is a 31-ton renovation to the spring training facility. GrayWolf was part the structural steel with joists, decking, overhead door frames, guard rails, embeds, and the tenant improvement installation of roof frames under the existing roof. One notable aspect of this project is the decision to utilize Quick Frames instead of traditional structural frames, a choice made due to unique site conditions and the need for an efficient installation process. Among the challenges faced were the presence of an existing building on site and a compressed timeline to ensure completion before the Opening Day of Spring Training. These hurdles were overcome by close collaboration with the general contractor project management team, creative scheduling, and effective coordination across all team members. The result is a successful, innovative building that meets the needs of the site and the firm schedule deadline, demonstrating adaptability and teamwork throughout the process.
