Rayos Del Sol Solar is a part of the growing solar energy landscape in Texas. It provides 180MW of sustainable energy.

GrayWolf’s scope of work included purchasing, fabricating, coating and delivering 88,000 steel solar array piers to the 1800-acre solar project.

This project contained some unique challenges due to extremely corrosive soil conditions at the project site. These conditions forced the client’s project team to use heavier gauge steel than normally used in typical solar pier construction. Due to this, the GrayWolf production team had to account for the thicker steel and develop specialized pier cutting and punching processes, as well as custom-made dies and equipment that could meet the client’s on-site weekly production needs.

GrayWolf’s project team worked daily with the client’s site team to effectively coordinate and manage the logistics required to move daily truckload of materials from the fabrication facilities, to the galvanizer, to the site. The project was completed on time and the client was able to meet their pier installation schedule per their contract with the project owner.
