The Trimble County Air Quality Control Upgrade project was the addition of a second unit at Louisville Gas and Electric's Trimble County Generating Station. The contract was awarded to EPC. GrayWolf was hired direct by the EPC firm to perform four major tasks, along with associated smaller tasks.

All scopes of work revolved around the unit's environmental compliance systems including the erection of the Holtec condenser, C276 Siemens absorber, Siemens Moly 6 WESP, Hitachi two train SCR, and various tanks, silos, and ductwork.

One of the complexities of this project was the design of the absorber. Highly skilled welding and craftsmanship were required, as most metals in these systems were complex and exotic. The lower portion of the absorber was carbon steel with C276 roll bonded cladding while the upper portion is solid C276.

Despite the challenges, the project budget and schedule were maintained.
