To overcome the many obstacles in meeting the aggressive eight week outage schedule, GrayWolf developed an innovative way to approach a major water wall rebuild that had limited access by installing a Derrick crane onto one of the adjacent boilers during the pre-outage.

Our scope included replacing 75% of this 190 megawatt boiler water wall in fifty-two panels for a total of 2190 tube welds. GrayWolf was successful in obtaining a dry hydro-test after the chemical clean.
